Wheel Hub Bearings (Wheel Bearing Assemblies)

Wheel hub bearings are primarily responsible for supporting the weight of the wheel and guiding its rotation, whilst withstanding both radial and axial loads. They are critical components of a vehicle’s chassis and are divided into two main categories: split bearings and integrated wheel hub assemblies.

First Generation (Double-row Bearing Sleeve)

Double-row angular contact ball or tapered roller bearings; flangeless; pre-lubricated with grease at the factory; require manual adjustment of clearance during installation; protected by multi-lip seals; cumbersome to dismantle and service; commonly used in older vehicle models.

Second Generation (Single-Flange Hub Unit)

Features an integrated mounting flange on one side; pre-adjusted clearance eliminates the need for on-site adjustment and allows for direct bolted assembly; some models feature an external ABS ring gear; compact in structure and simple to assemble; widely used in passenger cars and light commercial vehicles.

Third Generation (Dual-Flange Integrated Unit)

Features inner and outer flanges, whilst integrating a magnetic encoder and ABS wheel speed sensor to provide speed signals for ABS and ESP; high rigidity, lightweight, and ready for immediate use; widely adopted in mainstream new passenger cars.

Performance Features:

- Double-row rolling element structure, providing combined radial and axial load-bearing capacity, resistant to road impacts and vibrations

- Multi-lip composite seals provide protection against water, dust and mud; long-lasting internal grease filling ensures maintenance-free operation

- High-precision preload ensures low operating noise and enhanced driving stability

- Forged steel flanges offer high strength and resistance to deformation

Product Classification:

- Split wheel hub bearings: DAC series, flangeless, designed for press-fit installation into the wheel hub

- Second-generation units: flange on one side; third-generation units: flanges on both sides, with an ABS sensor ring

Applications:

Wheel assemblies for passenger cars, SUVs, vans, light commercial vehicles and certain types of construction machinery.

Common series and models: DAC series split bearings, and first-, second- and third-generation hub units for various vehicle models.
