Thrust roller bearings utilise a design featuring cylindrical or tapered rollers in line contact with the raceway; they are specifically developed to withstand heavy axial loads. Comprising an inner ring, an outer ring and a roller cage assembly, they are characterised by extremely high load-carrying capacity, excellent rigidity, high impact resistance and a long service life. Three types are available: thrust cylindrical roller bearings, thrust tapered roller bearings and thrust self-aligning roller bearings. These are capable of withstanding heavy axial loads in either one or both directions; the thrust self-aligning roller bearings, in particular, feature self-aligning capabilities and are widely used in heavy-duty machine tool tables, marine propulsion systems, mining machinery, metallurgical equipment, oil drilling rigs and large gearboxes.
